Urban Dog Parks

Urban dog parks are great for communities because it gives dogs, and dog owners a place to meet new friends.  Human beings need human contact, and this is a great way to do this.  Dog parks are also beneficial for dogs, because it allows the owners of the dogs to bring their dogs to a friendly environment and meet new friends.  The way that dog parks can help sustainability would be to have trees and many other plants in the park and let them stay forever.  These parks will be around for a while as long as people are in and out of it on a daily, or even weekly basis.  Urban dog parks would be, and will be, a great thing for the environment and people of every community.

Community Garden

Community gardens are great for communities.  Gardens bring people together and clean the air in the community for people.  These community gardens are great for increasing the sustainability of the community and environment because it increases the food supply (depending on what is grown) and increases the air quality of the community.  Community gardens bring people together and force people to care about the environment.  This care is given through the attention that people have to give to the garden in order to keep it up and running.  This would be great to see in Macon, because this community needs a pretty pick me up.

Global Climate Blog

The medieval warm period occurred in the time period of  950-1250.  This was during the European Middle Ages.  Some of the outgrowths of this period were farms and livestock.  The farming went up during this time.  Farming was very important during this time.

The Little Ice Age was a period of cooling.  This happened in 1550-1850.

Air Quality Blog

This location is in California, and it is right outside of Palm Springs.  The reason why the pollution rate is so high could be attributed to the airport.  Jets let off tons of toxic fumes when the jet fuel is being burned.  The other reason the pollution could be high is because of the traffic of the airport.  With people constantly traveling to and from the airport, the car gas and fumes being emitted are hurting the environment.  The air quality is hurt because of these two things, and there are likely to be more, I just feel that these two are the biggest problems.

The picture shown above is from Google Earth, and it is a screenshot of the waste water test plant of Augusta.  I chose this because without this treatment plant there would be a ton of sewage just sitting around everywhere in Augusta.  This poses a problem not only for us humans, but for our environment.  If this sewage just built up around Augusta the wildlife there may not flourish and even worse, it might die off entirely.  This treatment plant is what keeps the city of Augusta clean.  This water plant also gives many jobs to this community.  The plant is just all around good for Augusta.
